LED lighting

The principal advantages of fitting LED type bulbs as opposed to standard ones are two-fold: LED's should last virtually forever and so won't need changing and the light produced comes on almost instantaneously as opposed to a standard bulb which needs to 'warm up' a bit first. The truth is that nothing is forever and bad vibrations, water, poor electrics can harm LED bulbs too (although they are exceptionally hard wearing).

Please note that the light from LED bulbs is very directional and (whilst brighter than conventional bulbs) have less of a 'spread' of light. The net effect of this is that the rear lenses will have a brighter spot in front of the LED bulb but will appear dimmer further away from the light source. This is partly because of the directional properties of the light and partly because the bit in front of the light is brighter. In a practical sense the front sidelight bulbs are much better because of this effect and the rear sidelights less so (still OK though). The indicator and stoplamp bulbs are bright enough to make this less of an issue.

One thing you do need to be aware of is that you may well find cheaper LED bulbs around and this is principally because of the number and quality of LED's used. We tell you how many LED's you are getting and when we were researching what to sell we found that smaller numbers of LED's in each bulb meant that the light was just not satsfactory especially when you take the directional factor into account.
